Bristol is the reason

Yesterday at about 2 Jack facebooked me asking if I wanted to see Gallows and Every Time I Die that night in Bristol, I wasn't really feeling it so didn't get back to him but the old bastard had other plans- turned up at my house and so I had to say yes. I love him for that.

We had to leave at 5 and were in Bristol by 6:20, had alot of cider and beer and a burger at wetherspoons then headed to the academy. So cool just being in a new city, walked down the hill freddy skates down in season 3 of skins, pretty sweet. Missed Throats, which I'm a little bummed about but ETID were incredible, crowd went mental, best pitting I've seen in a while, just enough space to make movement violent but enough people to make it good. Someone smashed their forehead into my cheekbone and I have a bruise there- reckon on most people it would equal a black eye, I did put some ice on it almost immediately but couldn't resist get back to the madness. It has not swollen up how I might have liked but there we go.

In comparison Gallows were disappointing, their new songs just aren't as good as the oldies and the majority of their set was newbies. People seemed to be going for it but the pit was a little stodgy. Plenty of heckling which Frank dealt with in his classic style- challenging it and making them seem like idiots. Final few songs were off orchaestra and I was loving it but Jack and I had to get back to the station for 22:55 and so I left before the encore, then they erupted into "My name is cassanova..." and I had to get back. Went crazy for that, crowd surfed and therefore got kicked out- perfect way to end the night.
Unfortunately I'd taken my grey hoody and left it in a corner- it wasn't there at the end of the ETID set :(
On the train back we realised besides my eye bruise my shoes had been ripped to shit- photo coming from disposable and I had blood on my SYG t shirt
but a pretty fucking sweet night.
